Established as a spin-out from Edinburgh University, Reactec have been developing high-tech yet practical solutions to health protection against HAVS since their establishment in 2001.
The latest development from Reactec is the HAVwear monitor, a system comprising of a watch device worn by vibratory tool operators. This wearable technology seems to be the natural progression for HAVS monitoring and limiting employee exposure to vibration.
The HAVwear was developed to allow an easier and more effective method of assessing and managing hand arm vibration risks in the workplace.
The HAVwear informs users of their live vibration exposure, including information regarding HSE exposure points. Visual and audible alarms clearly signify to the user when their pre-set exposure thresholds have been exceeded.
