Chauvin Arnoux CA43 Fieldmeter
This is the CA43 Fieldmeter which offers an effective solution for the measurement of electromagnetic fields whether you are assessing Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), measuring exposure or seeking the sources of radiation. It is a small sized instrument which has its own sensor with isotropic polarisation. They are used to measure the effective value of strong fields that are generally greater than 0.1V/m.
The CA43 is lightweight and battery-powered. When you switch it on the returning service life will be shown. Measurements can be made outside as well as in confined spaces. All of the applications linked to the measurement of Electromagnetic fields are possible because of the dynamic range of 0.1V/m to 200V/m.
It measures the density of energy received in µW/cm² for distant fields of flat waves. This allows it to be used as an Intensionmeter (Dosemeter) on RECORD mode. Therefore, it is possible to find out the average dose of electromagnetic radiation that is received during a given time.
This fieldmeter has an EEPROM memory which is capable of storing up to 1920 measurement counts and their date and there are two ways of using the memory. Firstly, memorising the measurements on the spot. Secondly, the CA43 can be left to memorize, with a defined interval, the results of min, max and average measurements. This allows it to extrapolate the tendency and to detect random phenomena over time (site monitoring).
The measurement of peak values from 1ms is allowed because of the PEAK function. It has as standard an optical and bi-direction RS-232 Interface. The supplied optic fibre link is not sensitive to electromagnetic disturbances. Therefore, it is possible to leave the CA43 in anechoic chamber during Electromagnetic compatibility tests.
